Cooking Up Better Lives Announces 2018 Better Lives Makeover WINNER

Cooking Up Better Lives has announced their 2018 winner is The Center.

DENVER – JULY 10, 2018 – Cooking Up Better Lives has selected a winner for the 2018 Better Lives Makeover: The Center in Palos Park, Illinois.

A Chicago southwest suburban community parish and community center foundation, The Center’s mission is “to help people develop balance in their lives”. Programs and activities include an onsite substance-abuse recovery program, as well as prayer services, memorials, baptisms, weddings, retreats, luncheons, preschool through second-grade classes, farm tours and agricultural education, summer camp, and a full-ranging art program.

The Center is a regional non-profit 501(c)(3) charity, has been in operation since 1932, and currently serves over 33,000 meals per year. The current kitchen at The Center was built in the 1980’s and struggles to meet health department code. The Executive Director of The Center, Dave Sanders, states that “Almost everything we do makes use of our kitchen in one way or another.”

This nominee was brought forth by one of Excell’s dealer members, Mark and Kathy Raber of Ramar Supply, Inc., who never imagined the exposure and positive momentum The Center is about to experience. Ramar Supply will be donating the kitchen design services as well as warehousing, delivery, and installation. To learn more, visit: http://thecenterpalos.org
